PPAP23HP is the hot-pressed version. The retailer lists cold-pressed/Not and rough pads separately. “Not” in this paper context is a cold-pressed surface designation, not a missing specification or a promise that the pad has no texture.
Keep surface and fibre questions separate
The maker describes three textures within Aquarelle and a 100%cotton composition. Cotton percentage does not select one texture automatically. Nor does a surface label establish a measured grain direction or the feel of a particular supplied sheet. The site has not handled or tested these pads.
A concrete order choice
If an existing workshop list requires hot pressed 23×31 cm, twelve sheets, choose that exact record rather than the similar-priced Not version. If the brief does not specify a surface, ask before ordering instead of declaring one universally better. The price comparison cannot decide a personal technique preference.
Avoid an invented review
The journal reports surface names and source descriptions. It does not claim smoother washes, sharper lines, better lifting or superior colour from actual use. Any performance statements on the maker page remain manufacturer claims, not results observed by this site.
